When planning an event after picking your date the next step is to make an invite list

This step will differ depending on the type of event you are having If you are having an event with invitations to a particular group of people you will start with a list of people you would like to invite.

Then it is important to review the list with all parties involved. For weddings maybe with parents, for a shower the person you are throwing it for or family involved.

When having an event that you are selling tickets to this step can be a bit more difficult as you will have to make your best estimate. Making a list of past participants is a great place to start if this event has taken place before. Once that list is complete begin a list of new attendees that you would like to contact. Looking a events that are similar to yours is another way of gathering information on how many people may attend.

From these lists do your best to estimate the amount of guests that you expect. Estimating your guest count will be important for all future planning. Vendors such as your venue, decorator ect. will base their quote on this number

When making a guest list it will take more than one attempt. Patience will be imperative while working to ensure you have included all your guests when estimating your guest count always use a number that is a bit higher than expected when receiving quotes from vendors it is better to over budget than under.
